Thank you for the opportunity to provide input pertaining to Perfluoroalkyl and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFASs). The San Francisco Department of the Environment (SFE) is particularly interested in PFASs because they are used in a wide variety of consumer products and pose serious threats to human and environmental health.

The Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) has requested input on specific questions pertaining to PFASs. While the Washington State Department of Ecology does not have information regarding the majority of the questions proposed, our department has data that are not publically available on PFAS compounds in consumer products and environmental media and a recent hazard assessment on a shorter chain PFAS that might be of interest.
